Carol Kofoed Glad passed away peacefully on December 17, 2021, at the age of 95. Carol was born July 8, 1926 in Preston, Idaho, to Eugene and Lillie Kofoed. She married Gordon Redford Glad on February 14, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah and they were then sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on May 19, 1983.

Carol’s favorite flowers were roses, she had a garden with over 22 rose bushes in the house she lived in for 58 years on Park Meadows St. in Salt Lake City. She was a very talented Chinese painter and painted many figurines, plates and other objects. She painted a lamp that won first place at the Salt Lake County Fair. She also loved to knit and crochet. She crocheted many stuffed animals and other items for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a remarkable seamstress and made many clothes for her daughters when they were young. She was able to combine dress designs to create the exact dresses she wanted. Quilting was also a passion for her and she made many blankets for her grandchildren.

Carol was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many callings throughout her life, including Relief Society president, counselor, member of the senior presidency, teacher, and many. others. His favorite vocation was at the Waterford School of using computers to teach young children to read, colors and numbers. Her favorite memory was when she had problems with a computer (she didn’t always get along with computers) and a three-and-a-half-year-old student came to show her how to do it.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Linda (Paul) Hiskey and Sheree (Steve) Workman, her brother-in-law Bob (Laura) Glad, her sisters-in-law Martha (John) Heath, Joann Gardine, her sisters Gloria Callister and Valene Howell , 9 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Carol is predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers Lynn Kofoed, Marlin Kofoed, John Kofoed, sisters Norma Spackman and Nelda Pearson.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. A visit will precede the service from 9:30 am to 10:45 am Interment will be in the Salt Lake City cemetery.
