OGDEN – The Seager Clinic is hosting its third annual free health screening day for the public this weekend.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, everyone can receive a number of preventative screenings including breast exams, mammograms, pap smears, skin cancer screenings, dental cleanings, pressure checks blood tests, depression screenings, blood tests, colon cancer screenings and vaccinations.

The clinic partners with the Utah Cancer Program, Intermountain Healthcare Mobile Mammography and other members of the community to provide the exams free of charge, said Jerika Mays, executive director of the clinic. Seager.

“Our volunteer medical director, Dr. Marc Johnson, and administrative director, Dr. Chelsea Slade, will review all test results and do all patient follow-up,” Mays said. “If the results are cause for concern, the patient will be referred to our free general clinic, mental health clinic, dental clinic or diabetes clinic.”

Screenings will be on a first come, first served basis. No appointment is necessary. Mays said the clinic will not verify income, residency or citizenship status.

“Last year we had 20 people in attendance,” Mays said. “This year, I would like to see 50 to 75 people take advantage of the free services offered.

Screenings will take place at the former location of the Seager Clinic, 2775 Wall Ave. For more information or questions, contact Mays at [email protected] or call 801-528-2396.
