J. Martinez Obituary (2022) – Salt Lake City, UT

J. Tom Martinez

Pleasant Grove, UT—My beloved and devoted husband, Tom Martinez, passed away peacefully at his home of natural causes on January 24, 2022.

He was born in Dixon, New Mexico on March 25, 1940, to Mary Lopez and Jose Martinez. His grandfather moved the family to Ogden, Utah where he graduated from Ogden High School in 1959. Tom enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California. After his release he returned to Ogden and found work with Thiokol Chemical in the printing department.

He knew the industry and was offered a managerial position at a printing company in Salt Lake City. He becomes a partner and flourishes as a salesman. Tom’s clients were always assured of excellent results.

We purchased Printing Impressions in Salt Lake City and he continued to take pride in providing his special expertise and customer service. When we retired, we moved to Mesa, Arizona. Tom pursued a career in real estate and was very successful. We returned to Utah and settled in Pleasant Grove. He was proud of his gardens and courtyards.

We enjoyed camping, golfing and fishing. We have traveled the country and the world. Tom was a basketball and football enthusiast. We have attended the All-Star Games and the Super Bowls. Many people will fondly remember the golf tournaments he presided over the years.
