Les returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 11, 2021, where he was surrounded by his family at the Brigham City Community Hospital in Utah.
Les was the first born to Lester Eugene and Annie Virgena Aldridge Taylor on June 8, 1935 in Boise, Idaho. He was raised with his three younger sisters in Meridian, where he graduated from high school in Meridian. He then attended Boise Jr. College, Idaho State and Weber State College where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in finance.
Les married Julia (Judy) Marie Hancock in Pocatello, ID on April 2, 1958, and was subsequently sealed in the Logan Temple on July 29, 1960.
Les converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 23. He served in the Quorum of Elders as president, counselor and secretary. He was a faithful home teacher and stake listener for 20 years.
He worked at Thiokol as a Senior Financial Analyst and also served on the Board of Directors of Thiokol Credit Union. Before retiring from Thiokol, he started a new career in real estate for Caldwell Banker where he finally retired at the age of 82.
Leaves them a legacy of hard work and love. He loved his family and spent time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed family vacations to Disneyland, diet coke, sightseeing with friends and gardening every summer with his wife Judy. Les was an amazing husband, often spoiling his wife on their shopping adventures. He was a hard worker, but he always put his family first. Served them in the Naval Reserve and National Guard. He was proud to be an American and was often torn apart by all that was patriotic.
He is survived by his wife Judy; children: Michael (Michelle) Taylor, Jeffery, Julinn (Dan) Mumford, Marlese (David) Madsen; sisters: Janet Nicely and Carolann Murphy; 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 on the way. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Norma Faye Taylor.
The family would like to especially thank his wife Judy and son Jeff for being their caregivers, grandchildren Dallin & Mckenzie Madsen and Macey and Jeremy Shaw, Dan Taylor (home teacher), Dr Michael Shaw, Brigham City EMT and Brigham City Community hospital and staff for their loving care.
