With just over two months left until the world’s best parade takes to the streets of McAllen, the McAllen Holiday Parade, presented by HEB and powered by dealers Bert Ogden & Fiesta, parade organizers invite the community to be a part of the celebration and help bring the parade to life.

McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos has announced the return of the McAllen Holiday Parade contest, where, starting today, anyone can simply text “MCALLEN” to # 474747 for a chance to win prizes, such as HEB gift cards; Xbox X series; PS5; I PHONE 13; and $ 1,000 in cash for the holidays, to name a few.

“Today I’m delighted to say that not only is watching the parade an amazing experience, but now it’s worth watching and winning! Said Villalobos. “The lawyer in me must remind you that no purchase is necessary to enter this raffle.”

Actual prize giveaways begin Monday, November 1 and continue throughout parade day, Saturday, December 4. The contest will launch across all McAllen Holiday fashion show platforms, including the website and social media. Entrants can win big each week, then play LIVE during the McAllen Holiday Parade to win the best holiday prizes. One of the main prizes is sponsored by Bert Ogden & Fiesta dealers and includes a VIP experience that includes Meet & Greet tickets for celebrities, stadium seating and McAllen Holiday Parade loot, the hottest items !

One of the reasons the McAllen Holiday Parade won the award for best parade in Texas and the world is an award-winning volunteer program. The phenomenon that only occurs at the McAllen Holiday Parade known as the “Vuelta” is only possible thanks to the volunteers of the parade. The community is invited to register to be one of the hundreds of balloon fitters who spin giant helium balloons throughout the 1.5 mile parade route as the crowds sing along. “Vuelta”.

Additionally, volunteers can light up the parade by holding one of the more than 100 Illuminated McAllen Holiday Parade banners that march right in front of the floats, balloons or marching bands.

Balloon Handler Volunteers must be 18 years or older, while Banner Bearers must be 16 years or older. All volunteers must go through a background check and will be provided with gloves, a t-shirt and snacks. All volunteers are required to have a volunteer badge for a planned event. There are many ways to watch the McAllen Holiday Parade, presented by HEB and powered by dealers Bert Ogden & Fiesta and which includes seating on the parade route along Bicentennial Boulevard. Parade route seating tickets will be available for purchase starting Monday, October 4 at any of the McAllen community centers for just $ 10, including the Lark Community Center, 2601 Lark Avenue; Las Palmas Community Center, 1921 N. 25e St.; and the Las Palmas Community Center, 3401 Jordan Rd. W.

These seats are so popular that selling them as a fundraiser is an opportunity that is again only available to nonprofits or other community organizations. Groups interested in participating in this fundraising activity can contact the Lark Community Center for more details and to register.

The parade will start at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium, 2001, N. Bicentennial Blvd. and anyone who wants to watch the US Air Force in the stadium can purchase parade tickets at www.ticketmaster.com or at the McAllen Convention Center box office. Ticket prices start at $ 10, plus service charges. Celebrities Mario Lopez and Julian Gil will co-host the show.

The McAllen Holiday Parade, presented by HEB, is the largest illuminated and helium balloon holiday parade in Texas and uses 15 miles of light string, which generates 1,875,000 lumens of light to properly illuminate the parade and 44 500 cubic feet of helium to keep these giant balloons afloat and is propelled by 12,000 horsepower by over 50 trucks from Bert Ogden & Fiesta dealers.
