The Town of McAllen has announced that the main group for this year’s McAllen Holiday Parade, presented by HEB and powered by dealers Bert Ogden & Fiesta, will once again be the US Air Force Parade Element Honor Guard and Exercise Team, the first element of the U.S. March and Drill Team, adding the precision of a unit that performs in parades and celebrations around the world. “A lead march sets the tone for the parade and creates excitement for the rest of the floats and marching bands as they parade the parade route,” said McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos. “I believe this leading group will do this and more as they will help showcase our current veterans and military and inspire the youth of McAllen, the Rio Grande Valley and South Texas and everywhere. elsewhere where the parade is broadcast.

This is the second time that the U.S. Air Force Parade Element Honor Guard and Exercise Team performed in the McAllen Holiday Parade, first appearing in 2018, to a standing ovation from the stadium crowd of over 13,000, after performing a one-minute exercise routine before continuing their trek along of the 1.5 mile parade route out of the stadium, down Bicentennial Blvd to US Business 83. Lopez has appeared in several television series, in films and on Broadway. He is best known for his portrayal of AC Slater on “Saved by the Bell” and is well known for hosting the syndicated entertainment news magazine show “Additional,“America’s best dance team“For MTV, the American version of”The X factor,” and “Forward with Mario Lopez”, a four hour musical program featuring a unique blend of entertainment stories and celebrity interviews. The parade will start at 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium, 2001, N. The McAllen Holiday Parade, presented by HEB, is the largest illuminated and helium balloon holiday parade in Texas and uses 15 miles of light string, which generates 1,875,000 lumens of light to properly illuminate the parade and 44 500 cubic feet of helium to keep these giant balloons afloat and is propelled by 12,000 horsepower by over 50 trucks from Bert Ogden & Fiesta dealers.
