Nancy Gibson (1939 – 2021) obituary – Ogden, UT

Our beloved mother, Nancy Helen Sorensen Gibson, returned with honor to her heavenly abode on August 21, 2021. She was born on June 8, 1939 in Ogden, Utah, daughter of Lorraine Wright and Earl LeRoy Sorensen.

Nancy was sealed to her Eternal Companion Ronald Charles Gibson on November 7, 1957 in the Logan, Utah Temple.

Nancy was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a dedicated visiting teacher, Relief Society president, played the piano and lead music, and served in many other church callings.

Nancy was a talented musician, she played the piano beautifully and loved to sing, often being invited to perform at special events and at church. Mom always had a special project to work on and loved to sew and quilt.

Above all, she was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and she will be dearly missed.

Nancy is survived by her husband Ronald, children: Jan (Don) Carter; Joyce (Kevin) Ludlow; Lisa (Ronnie) Reeder; Kenneth (Heidi) Gibson and Paul (Danielle) Gibson; 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Gene (Jodie) Sorensen, Karen (Alan) Marshall and Brent (Debby) Sorensen.

She was predeceased by her parents.

The family would like to thank the loving staff of the Auberge Assisted Living Center, Dr. Mark Firth and Applegate Hospice for all the care they provided to our mother.

The funeral will be on Thursday August 26, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Weber 1st Ward, 4100 West 900 South, West Weber, Utah. A visit will be held on Wednesday, August 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden and on Thursday before the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in West Weber Cemetery.
