Deborah Romick Schultz was born in San Francisco on a stormy August 21, 1951. She arrived with a thunderclap as lightning bolts across the sky to announce her arrival. Seventy years and 16 days later, on September 6, she passed away from this land relieved of the torments of diabetes and the exhausting
dialysis keeping blood clean of impurities
She graduated from Cal State-Hayward and Chapman University where she received her Masters in Special Education and taught in the Fremont Unified School District before retiring and moving to Ogden, Utah. .
Deborah graduated from San Lorenzo High in 1969 and attended BYU in Provo, Utah, married Larry Wright and gave him 5 children before she divorced. In 2009, Debbie married Mark Schultz of Castro Valley, adding two more children to her little brood. With the three sons of Mark from his
previous marriage, they had 10 children: 6 boys and 4 girls: Michael Wright, Sean and Lani Wright, Pam and Rich Cannady, Katherine and Brian Wolf, Kristina and PJ Brown, Elizabeth Wright, Karl Schultz, Jeff and Courtney Schultz, Alan Schultz and Brian Schultz. She leaves many
grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a great-granddaughter. She died before her mother Mabel Weeks Romick, 1 sister, Julie and Tim McKillop of Hayward, three brothers, Kevin and Mary Romick of Oakley, Keith and Sabina Romick, of San Lorenzo and Kenneth Romick, Jr. of Sunol.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 20 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 859 Grant Av. San Lorenzo, California. She chose cremation with ashes scattered around her favorite places in the mountains off Utah and the beaches of California and California.
