The Town of Orem has opened a new Professional Level Communications Specialist position to work specifically with Mayor Dave Young and the City Council.
Karen Tapahe will fill the new position after working as the Community Outreach and Public Information Officer for the Provo City Council.

The Communications Specialist works under the direction of the Deputy General Manager. The position focuses on communications, public relations and communications strategy for the Mayor and City Council.
This is a new position in the city and Tapahe will work with the deputy city manager and with the communications department.

The first day of Tapahe will be Monday August 15th. Its main objective will be to help the Mayor and the City Council connect with citizens through various communication channels. In addition to its duties with the Mayor and Council, the communications team expects to participate in public events.
