Patricia “Patt” Spiers Cude | News, Sports, Jobs

March 11, 1937 – August 23, 2021

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Patricia “Patt” Spiers Cude returned to her Heavenly Father on August 23, 2021, after a long illness. She was greeted at the gates of Heaven with loving arms and had a happy reunion with her parents (George Albert Spiers and Ethel Jane Spiers), her husband (Richard “Dick” Cude), her sister (Gloria Dode Schwitzer) and her brother (Larry W. Spiers) who she missed dearly and loved so deeply.

Patt was born on March 11, 1937 to her parents George and Ethel Spiers as the youngest of three children. Although there were many years between her brother Larry and her sister Dode, she loved them with all her heart and they remained close throughout their years.

She attended Ogden High and graduated from Weber High in 1955. On August 4, 1956, Patt married her high school sweetheart Richard “Dick” Cude and had a beautiful wedding at Bertha Eccles Hall in Ogden. Her husband left this earthly world too early in 1979, and she missed Patt very much for the rest of her life. During their marriage, they were fortunate to have two daughters, Julie Whittier and Lynda Allen.

She found true love on earth thanks to her grandchildren. They were his pride and his joy. Her face beamed with love and pride whenever she spoke of her grandchildren. The grandchildren knew they would always leave her house with a little treat or a gift from Grandma.

Patt worked for the IRS for many years before moving to Kona, Hawaii. While in Kona, Patt enjoyed managing Sunset Traders which was just steps from the beach. She has lived in Hawaii for over twenty years. She embraced Hawaii and truly loved living near the ocean and all the dear friends she made on the island. She returned to Utah, but part of her heart still remained in the beauty of Hawaii.

Patt was a really classy lady, dressed eloquently for every occasion. Patt was passionate, willful and independent and that was true until her last breath. She was known for her love of pink and shopping for bargains. She liked going out for a cold drink, a bite to eat, or having fun with the people she liked, but she really liked it for good conversation.

She loved to bake cakes and make the best homemade candies. She loved delivering her beautifully wrapped gifts to her friends during the holidays. She made Christmas special by making sure everyone had a delicious meal and everyone in the family had stockings filled, regardless of their age.

Patt leaves her beloved family; two daughters Julie Whittier and Lynda Allen, six grandchildren Alicia Garn (Zach Garn), Amanda Allen, Camille Cardon (Casey Cardon), Jeremy Whittier (Amber Whittier), Richard Allen and Joshua Whittier, and seven great grandchildren, Lyric & Cade Nelson, Calup & Courtney Cardon, Jakob & Reagan Garn and Kash Whittier.

Family and friends are invited to visit family on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Leavitt Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday September 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Leavitt Mortuary
