Salt Lake City Mission Asks For Turkeys To Help Feed Utah Families In Need

The Salt Lake City Mission urgently needs more turkeys to help feed the needy in Utah during the holiday season.

Organization officials said they currently only have 23 turkeys in the freezer when they need hundreds.

“More and more, we are seeing people who have never come to the Mission to ask for help. Many were doing well before COVID-19 disrupted all of our lives, and now, with growing economic hardship, preparing for Thanksgiving has been more difficult than ever, ”said Pastor Joe Vazquez, Co-Director of the Salt Mission Lake City in a press release. “So our Turkey Drive this year is more important than ever because there is a greater need in the community for people who really need a little more hope in knowing that people really care about you. “

They are asking for donations of frozen turkeys weighing 10 to 12 pounds.
