The University of Utah: 100 South Reconstruction Project

June 11, 2021

Due to poor road conditions on 100 South, 900 East to University Street will be rebuilt from June 14, 2021 until October 2021. Motorists can expect minor delays as this work will require the closure of only one lane. In addition, pedestrians and cyclists circulating in the area should be aware that certain sections of the sidewalk and driveway will be under construction. This project also includes the replacement of the storm drains and the curb and gutter along the corridor, the replacement of the main line between 1000 East and 1100 East and the lining of the existing sewer line.

To improve safety, the intersection of University Street and 100 South will be under construction as of June 21, 2021. Motorists can expect minor delays as lane closures will be in effect. Safety improvements include wider corners to better align east-west traffic lanes, bulbs to shorten crossing lengths, new traffic lights. The realignment of the intersection will remove the reserved right-turn lanes currently on the north and east sections.
