The Department of Education (DfE) has confirmed the appointment of Rona Ruthen and Gary Page as non-executive directors of the Student Loans Company.
The three-year appointments began on October 19, 2020.
Rona has 15 years of experience in fintech, financial services and payment solutions, with companies in Israel and the UK. She led the operations of Fintech Curve in the UK and previously led business units and processes in the independent online marketplace Fiverr and the global payments company Payoneer.
Rona is the current Vice President of Client Operations at Monzo Bank. She is responsible for the design and delivery of award-winning customer service and client operations, supporting the bank’s rapid growth.
Commenting on her appointment, Rona said, “I am honored to be appointed to the Board of Directors of the Student Loans Company. This position will allow me to bring my experience in client-focused financial services to support higher education and continuing education.
Gary has worked in the banking industry for over 20 years, primarily at ABN AMRO where he held several positions including Global Head of Markets and Global Head of Commercial Banking.
Most recently Gary has focused on non-executive roles in the public, private and non-profit sectors with a particular focus on positions that facilitate greater social inclusion.
In addition to his role with the Student Loans Company, Gary is currently Chairman of Triodos Bank UK Limited, the UK subsidiary of Triodos Bank NV, one of Europe’s leading sustainable banks and lay member of the South East Employment Tribunal. He is also a director of a Suffolk-based charity that works with families bereaved by suicide.
