Utah intensive care units are at 97% capacity – Cache Valley Daily

As of Tuesday, 29 more Utahns have been hospitalized with COVID-19, bringing the current statewide hospitalization count to 575, and 229 of them are in intensive care. This puts the intensive care units in Utah hospitals at 97.1% of their capacity.

Since the start of the pandemic, 22,514 Utahs have been hospitalized.

Since Tuesday, 12 more Utahns have died from COVID-19 and since the start of the pandemic, the lives of 2,974 Utahns have been lost due to the virus. This includes 138 of the counties of Cache, Box Elder and Rich.

The Utah Department of Health (UDOH) has reported 1,975 new positive cases of the coronavirus, including 185 in northern Utah. Including Wednesday’s totals, since the start of the pandemic, there have been a total of 516,748 positive cases.

Kindergarten to grade 12 children accounted for 434 of the new cases announced on Wednesday, or 22% of new cases.

The total number of cases in northern Utah has reached 28,160 and 26,751 residents of northern Utah are listed as fully recovered while 1,271 in the district were hospitalized during the pandemic.

More than 1.7 million Utahns are fully vaccinated, representing 52% of the state’s total population. About 3.5 million doses have been administered, including 10,124 doses since Tuesday.

There are now 84,646 in northern Utah who are fully vaccinated and 180,483 total doses have been administered in the Bear River Health District.

11,613 Utahns have been tested since Tuesday, which means more than 3.5 million people have been tested and more than 6.3 million tests in total have been administered in the past 19 months.

Utah’s new seven-day moving average for positive tests has risen to 1,422 per day.

The new seven-day moving average for the percentage of “people-to-people” positivity held steady at 15.4%, while the seven-day moving average for the percentage of “test-to-people” positivity held steady at 15.4%. Slipped to 10.1%.

Wednesday’s COVID update from Idaho indicates 2,993 coronavirus deaths and the new total of confirmed COVID-19 cases is 263,294 statewide. The number of new cases in the three counties of southeastern Idaho includes 1,484 total positives in Franklin County, 607 in Bear Lake County and 468 in Oneida County.
