Utah sex offender arrested after attempting to buy cheerleader panties

RICHFIELD, Utah (ABC4) – A man has been arrested after trying to solicit a teen’s underwear on a high school campus.

Richfield Police said the incident happened at Richfield High School on December 15.

The suspect has been identified as Christopher Todd Peck, 42.

“It should be noted that, according to Christopher’s sex offender registry, it is prohibited to enter school grounds,” the court documents say.

Police said the incident happened when a high school student was walking towards her car after cheerleading practice. The victim told officers upon entering her vehicle, she noticed a van parked next to her with the suspect sitting inside.

The victim says the suspect knocked on his car window and motioned for him to get his attention. When she rolled down the window she said the man asked her, “If I gave you $ 30, would you give me the panties you’re wearing right now?” ”

When the suspect turned to the center console of his car, the victim drove off and made sure she was not being followed.

Upon investigation, police discovered that the suspect was a registered sex offender who is currently on parole. Police also linked it to a previous “suspicious incident” at the Sevier Valley Center on November 22. Authorities were able to track down and arrest the suspect after matching descriptions of the suspect and the victim’s vehicle with surveillance camera footage.

He is arrested on four counts, including intent to engage in sexual activity for pay, trafficking in material injurious to minors, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.

The suspect is currently registered with the Servier County Sheriff’s Office.
