The final three spots will be decided by playoffs. Two of the finals will take place on Tuesday. The winners will qualify for the World Cup.

The outstanding playoff run was postponed due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It should take place in June.

– Vickery: Tense battle to seal playoff berth
All four automatic berths have been confirmed in South America, leaving only the Intercontinental Qualifiers berth to play for. The final round of matches will take place on Tuesday, with the team that finishes fifth in the group taking on the winners of the Asian playoff path for a World Cup berth.

There are two qualifying rounds to play, Sunday and Wednesday. The top three qualify automatically, with the fourth-placed team playing the winners from the Oceania region to compete in the World Cup.
Africa
The five places in Africa are decided by two-legged playoffs, with the return matches taking place on Tuesday. The first leg scores from all five fixtures are as follows, with the winners advancing to the World Cup.

Two teams will face off in the confederation playoff final. Australia secured their spot, with the other spot up for grabs on Tuesday. The United Arab Emirates will win if they win at home against South Korea. If they don’t win, Iraq is in the best position to overtake them by beating Syria.
Oceania
The winners of the Oceania region will face a CONCACAF team for a place in the World Cup final. Qualifying is in the semi-final stage, with matches to be played on Sunday and the final to follow on Wednesday.
The Solomon Islands won the first semi-final and will face winners New Zealand against Tahiti for a place in the intercontinental playoffs.
